Born in 1970. First program in 1984. First business in 1998, building websites, worldwide, back when a gigabyte of transfer still cost 300 marks.

From 2000 to 2025 a court-appointed expert witness for public prosecutors, courts, and law firms: seized computers and mobile phones, video forensics, audio forensics, forensic anthropology. Several hundred expert reports. One of them you know: the authentication of the Ibiza video for Süddeutsche Zeitung and Der Spiegel. The others I don’t talk about.

Since 2025, privately commissioned and international, under rauscher.xyz.

Today: servers, software, AI systems, forensics after a break-in. What I build belongs to the client, source code included.

When I’m definitely the wrong person for you

If you try to call me every 2 hours. There is no number. And if you find one: the phone it belongs to is in the office, and I’m not.

If you text me an emergency at 3 in the morning because an email didn’t arrive. The email is exactly as undelivered at 3 as it is at 9. At 9, I read it.

If you say just a quick one. There is no quick. There is right, and that takes as long as it takes.

If you expect a ticket system, an on-call service, or an SLA. Those are promises people make when they don’t intend to keep them personally.

If your first question is the price. It comes at the end of the evaluation, not at the top of the email.

I live at a deliberate pace. That’s not a phase, and it’s not changing. It’s also why my work holds up.

When I’m the right person

If you have a problem that needs solving, not a feeling that needs tending. If you can describe it in writing, with what you know and without what you suspect. If you can take an answer that isn’t the one you wanted.

Then you get what has kept the people who found me in 1998 around ever since: the same answer, no matter who’s asking.

Not every inquiry becomes an engagement. The ones that do get all of me.
